I know, I know.....it's been so long!

I know I've been away for a while.....and trust me -- you wouldn't have wanted to hear from me in the last week! After Isabella was born, we stayed at the hospital until Sunday and I probably slept a total of 8 hours while we were there. By the time we got home, I was so out of it......I fell asleep everywhere! A coherent sentence just wasn't possible. I feel like I'm slowly getting back to what is our new normal. Which consists of a lot of this..........

And a whole lotta this.................

My mom has been staying with us since we got home from the hospital and she went home today. Now..... I know she's just 8 little miles down the road but still. Who doesn't want their mom every now and then?!?!!!! And I must say............D and I are still working on the "Grandma Move-in Plan" - hahaha!

I'll do another post about Bella's birthday....more for my own memory....but this experience has been totally different. I realize that's a pretty obvious statement, but still. I had so many people comment to me how much easier it would be this time since we were having "just one" and I kept saying I was thinking it was going to be harder. And I was right! Of course if we were given the choice with the girls, we would have skipped the whole NICU experience but since we didn't have a choice, one "good" thing that came from it was the girls coming home on a solid schedule that let D and I plan our strategy. So we've never done this kind of "newborn thing" before.

The girls have been great although the day after we brought Bella home, the girls woke up with runny noses and coughing which sent me into a bit of a freak out, if we're being totally honest around here - haha. I know it's bound to happen with older siblings around, but I was really hoping to get a good few weeks of healthy time at home before introducing Bella to colds. The girls are coming around now but we've been trying really hard to keep them away from her....and I so hate it because they're so sweet about her! Sofia looks in to the pack-n-play and says "Get up, baby, get up!" or "Where's my sister?" and Olivia is always aware of Bella crying and will run over to her and say "Don't cry Baby Bella, don't cry!" Melt. My. Heart!!

I'm so thankful to have quite a bit of time to be home with everyone so we have time to get ourselves into our new routine and plenty of time to enjoy our sweet little ones! Here are a few pictures to hold you over until next time!!!

Getting a little bit of sun........Isabella has a bit of jaundice so we've been keeping her in the sun as much as possible. The pediatrician seems to think she hit her peak and we've been seeing improvement all week.

Love love love the ruffles!
Baby burrito and finally a picture with her eyes open!! Bella loves to be swaddled.
One of my most favorite pictures of Bella so far........she's 2 days old here and we're still in the hospital. Such a sweet face!!
