One week down........

All is well here. Over the past couple of days my contractions have started to get more steady --- I'm still "allowed" 6 in an hour and, with only a couple of exceptions, they've stayed below that but they've gotten stronger. I wouldn't say they hurt, but they had a little edge to them. I told them it was a 3 on a scale of 10......they love using that scale. I'm going to relate everything on a scale of 0 to 10 by the time we go home - ha. I was even having them in the hour after I would get a big dose of the brethine (I've learned that no one calls terbutaline terbutaline...it's brethine so I have to be cool and get with the lingo). I stayed on the monitor all day yesterday because I wanted the doctor to be able to see what's been going on, but no one ever came by. When the nurse was in for my 6pm meds, I told her I was getting uncomfortable with the increase in activity and was there something we could do about it. She called the specialist....I'm not sure what the communication was (I think it got lost in shift change), but by 7:45 when I was working with the new nurse I mentioned it again so she also called Dr. G. Apparently he was a little irritated that no one had done anything for me earlier and ordered a change to the program in the pump. They changed both the hourly rate of the meds and also the amount I get in the larger doses every 3 hours. He was most concerned that the contractions were feeling a little stronger than with how many I was having, but he was conscious that the overall activity was increasing. I could tell a difference last night and we'll see today how things look.

We have an ultrasound scheduled for this morning to measure the babies so we get to see how big they've gotten! Trust me...they're growing. Dr. G is sending one of his techs from his office over here to do the u/s. I'm sure there won't be digital pictures but hopefully she'll print a couple for us to have. Daniel wanted to be here today so he's taking the day off work. He spent the night last night and is currently curled up on his bed under a pile of blankets. Geesh...it's a balmy 65 in here this morning...what's wrong with him?!?!

I'm hoping everything looks good today with the babies and the contractions slow down....it's been several days since I've been outside so I'm looking forward to my 20 minutes of fresh air. I'll put another update up this afternoon after we've seen the girls. Until then..................................
