We had a visit with the maternal-fetal specialist today and after our visit before the beach, I was honestly expecting the worst. I was prepared to hear things like "cerclage surgery" and "bed rest". However, much to our surprise, things looked better today than they did in the last visit. We had a growth scan and she's measuring right on for 22 weeks gestation with an estimated weight currently at 1lb 1oz and the issue I was anticipating apparently isn't as much of an issue. I still have orders to take it easy as much as possible....no lifting the girls - no lifting anything, for that matter, and resting as much as possible, but no big restrictions like bedrest or modified bedrest. I think I'll take the more cautious route, though.
I know I should be happy after our visit, and I am, but I still can't help but to be anxious. It's going to be a long 17 weeks (we've not scheduled delivery yet, but my OB says it'll be anywhere from November 2 to the 9th, with the 9th being my due date....so my vote is for the 2nd - ha!) but I'm ready. Work is going to be busy for the next couple of months so that should be somewhat of a distraction and we also have to start working on the nursery......which currently is our extra bedroom for storage, so there's a lot of organizing and moving around, etc. Which I'll do while sitting in a chair giving direction - haha. Doctor's orders, right?!?!
So there you have it. A baby update and a few pictures. Ultrasound pictures aren't complete without the good profile picture:
